Join in the celebrations!
Every season brings an occasion to celebrate in the Grand Haven area. First up in the spring are the Chilly Blues, Lubbers Cup Regatta, and Great Lakes Kite Festival. Summer pops with a premier lineup, including the Spring Lake Heritage Festival, Sand Sculpture Contest, Grand Haven Art Festival, 4th of July Fireworks, Coopersville Summerfest, and the nationally-renowned Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival. Fall is honored with September’s Salmon Festival, Grand Haven Artwalk, GVSU Lakers football games at Lubber's Stadium, and the Famous Pumpkin Train in Coopersville. It may be cold outside, but hearts are warm when the Grand Haven community presents its traditional Jingle Bell Parade to welcome Santa and Mrs. Claus. Attending Winterfest in January is a long standing tradition, as families enjoy activities such as the cardboard sled race and dog pulls.
Join us in celebrating all that makes our area unique and attractive.

Artisan Cooking School - Cooking Class
Do you want to eat “real” food? Are you too busy so you make processed or prepackaged meals? Are you concerned about additives, preservatives or hormones? Do you worry about what is in the food you eat? Eating “real” food means fresh fruits, vegetables and meats and minimally processed ingredients. At Artisan, you will learn techniques to help fill your freezer with real food.
Understand how to make quick meals with little clean‐up for those busy weeknights.
Demonstration style classes $50pp – interact with the chefs as you follow along with the recipes in your own class packet.
The recipes are made from scratch in front of you and you enjoy 4‐6 small plates of what you cooked in class. Hands-On Classes are
available for a private class setting only.
Classes start at 6:30 pm and are approximately 2 ½ & 3 hours long. We require a minimum of six (6) people to hold the class.
Advanced reservations are required for each class. Check out Artisan's website for a full schedule of upcoming classes.

Strings & things Jam and Open Mic
@ 7 Steps Up in Spring Lake
116 S. Jackson Street, Spring Lake, MI 49456
(Across from the Post Office)
The 1st and 3rd Tuesdays each month
7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Here’s a chance to dust off that old guitar and get back into what you really love: Playin’
Music. This is not a competition, but just a way for beginners and experienced players to play
and learn some great classic songs.
The 7 Steps Up Jammers, an informal group of local players, will get the evening
started with a few songs. If you want to play, bring your guitar (acoustic or electric), mandolin,
uke, fiddle, harmonica, flute, sax, congas, kazoo or whatever you play and jam along to some
familiar songs. If you are up for going solo or playing with your band or friends, you can do
that too. The goal is to provide an informal, fun, and un-intimidating venue to play and listen to
music.
A mic and basic instrument amplification will be provided for up to two players at a time.
Feel free to bring your own equipment if needed or desired. Although much of the music will
be classic rock, folk, and blues, we encourage any and all types of music including originals.
In addition to playing music at Strings & Things
Just bring your friends, have a drink, and listen (the bar will be open).
Win a free draft beer playing Classic Rock Trivia.
Not a musician? Join the jam anyway with one of our provided percussion
instruments.
We encourage young people to join in the fun. What a great chance to get some
experience playing live with an audience. Those under 17 may attend only if accompanied by
a parent or legal guardian.
Come and play or just come to listen
Hope to see you there.
